Unapproved Minutes of the January 14, 2012 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at the home of Allen and Marge Middendorp following a hike and chilli supper.

The secretary’s report was approved with a correction in the total of liquid treasury funds of $33,731.80. The treasurer reported $33,721.80 in bank accounts plus $10,584.60 in asset accounts for an overall total of $44,316.49. The report was approved.

OLD BUSINESS

Candle Light Ski: Plans for volunteers to light trails were completed. It was reported that Marty Bushland will have four students to help put out candles. Snow conditions will determine how many trails will be used. If there is insufficient snow for skiing or snow shoeing, then just the Nature and the Group Camping Trails will be used. Trails will be marked to avoid overlapping of ski and snowshoe trails.

Jan Kroll and Chuck Card will check out supplies and purchase what is necessary. There are a sufficient number of candles.

There was discussion about use of the Fun Patrol for the candle light skiing. Motion: Use the patrol for our Open House and not for the candle light ski. (Elmer Sharp/Bill Kroll). Motion passed. Jan Kroll will make the final arrangements.

Liability Insurance: Allen Middendorp received notice that the liability insurance will increase $89; the notice did not make it clear if it was for a full or half year. Allen will contact the company to determine the cost.

Scott Erickson reported the need for a new snow mobile for ski trail grooming. He have more information about the cost of purchasing a machine for our next meeting.
